Tottenham Hotspur suffered a second-half collapse as they were dumped out in the fourth round of the League Cup by West Ham United on Wednesday.

Spurs led 2-0 at half-time only for West Ham to recover to win 3-2 and join Chelsea, 2-1 winners over Everton, in the last eight. Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli put Spurs in control at Wembley but Andrew Ayew scored twice in five minutes to level the match after an hour.

Angelo Ogbonna then won it for West Ham with the third goal 20 minutes from time, with a superb header into the corner.
Antonio Ruediger put Chelsea in front after 26 minutes and Willian doubled their lead on 90 minutes.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Everton a glimmer of hope with a goal seconds later but Chelsea hung on for victory.

Cologne shot their way out of the doldrums and into the German Cup round of 16 with a 3-1 win at Hertha Berlin on Thursday, while Wolfsburg beat Hanover to advance from the second round.

The four-time German Cup champions Cologne came into the second-round match in Berlin in last place in the Bundesliga and without a pointin the Europa League - having scored just four goals in those 12games.

But the German Cup has been Cologne's one bright spot, where they won
their first - and only - match of the season on August 12, a 5-0 first round win over fifth division Leher.

Cologne worked their cup magic again on Thursday with a 3-1 victory in the German capital, snapping a 12-match streak without a win. Simon Zoller started the scoring for Cologne in the 35th minute, while Dominic Maroh doubled the advantage two minutes before the break.

Cologne added a third goal in the 64th minute through Christian Clemens, with the assist going to Zoller, who picked up a goal and assist in Cologne's first-round win over Leher.

Berlin pulled a goal back five minutes later on Niklas Stark's header to make it 3-1. But the hosts could not grab another goal.

In a battle of Bundesliga sides with one title to their names, the2015 winners Wolfsburg got the best of 1992 champs Hanover 1unau-0 at home.

Felix Uduokhai tallied the game-winner in the 49th minute, converting after Daniel Didavi's free kick was stopped.

The three-time winners VfB Stuttgart were another Bundesliga side to advance, beating second division Kaiserslautern 3-1 on the road. Lukas Spalvis pushed Kaiserslautern ahead in the seventh minute before Stuttgart equalized on Daniel Ginczek's penalty after 21 minutes.

The guests decided the game with two goals within five minutes, Chadroc Akolo scoring in the 66th minute and setting up Simon Terodde's tally for 3-1 in the 71st.

The four-time cup winners Nuremberg survived a battle with the third division cellar dwellers Osnabrueck, taking home a 3-2 away win. Osnabrueck jumped ahead after four minutes through Marcos Alvarez's penalty. Nuremberg fought themselves into the game and took the lead on goals by Mikael Ishak in the 38th minute and Tim Leibold in the 50th minute.

Osnabrueck equalized 2-2 after 64 minutes on Christian Gross's header Nuremberg reclaimed the lead 3-2 eight minutes later on Enrico Valentini's strike.

Osnabrueck went a man down in the 76th minute with Furkan Zorba seeing a red card for his professional tackle. The hosts could not come back and grab another upset, having taken down SV Hamburg in the first round.

The highlight of the German Cup second round will come later Wednesday with record champions Bayern Munich playing at RB Leipzig. The other later matches have Jahn Regensburg hosting Heidenheim; Hoffenheim a six-time champions Werder Bremen; and Freiburg welcoming Dynamo Dresden.

Atalanta beat visiting Verona 3-0 Wednesday to go seventh in the Italian Serie A, converting their dominance into goals from Remo Freuler, Josip Ilicic and substitute Jasmin Kurtic.

The game in Bergamo opened a batch of nine encounters after Inter Milan beat Sampdoria 3-2 Tuesday to go top on 26 points from 10 games.

Chelsea scored three late goals to beat Watford 4-2 and move back into the top four of the Premier League on Saturday.

Michy Batshuayi sandwiched a brace around Cesar Azpilicueta's header, all after the 71st minute, as the defending champions avoided a third straight league loss.

Pedro fired Chelsea into the lead before Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure and Roberto Pereyra scored either side of half-time.

Batshuayi then came off the bench to first equalize and then clinch the victory after Azpilicueta nodded the Blues in front in the 88th minute.

Leaders Manchester City host Burnley and second-placed Manchester United are at Huddersfield among Saturday's six other matches.

Match Wydad Athletic Club v USM Alger time is at 19:00 21-10-2017 CAF Champions League 2017 .kikk off time of match  Match Wydad Athletic Club v USM Alger is on  Gmt time

On Saturday, former champions Wydad will look to make the most of the home advantage when they host Alger at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca.
Alger’s Belgian coach Paul Put is optimistic that they can overturn the tie as long as they wait for their chances and also avoid conceding a goal.
"The return leg could well go in our favour. Away from home, you sometimes get more space, which leads to counter-attacks. In football, anything is possible. We mustn’t concede a goal, and we’ll need to wait patiently for our chances,” he told Fifa.com.
"Morocco is known for its intense supporters, but we’re accustomed to that type of atmosphere,” he added.
“In our derby against MC Alger, the stadium was packed. When we played Zamalek, the atmosphere was electric. And we shouldn’t forget the footballing rivalry that exists between Algeria and Morocco. We know it’s going to be a tricky match to negotiate."
To their advantage, Wydad have an impressive home record having won all five home Champions League matches without conceding a goal and their victims included holders Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.

Schalke climbed to fourth in the German football Bundesliga with a 2-0 win over Mainz in Gelsenkirchen on Friday.

Leon Goretzka put Schalke on track in the 13th minute with a chip over keeper Rene Adler after being put through by Guido Burgstaller.

Thilo Kehrer came close to a second with a header from a free-kick which came back off the post before Burgstaller mopped up from close range in the 74th after Adler parried Naldo's header from a corner.

Mainz had to wait until nine minutes from time for their best chance when Kenan Kodro, just off the substitutes' bench, headed wide from a good position.

Schalke's win, following up a 2-0 victory at Hertha Berlin last weekend, puts Domenico Tedesco's side level on 16 points with third-placed RB Leipzig ahead of the weekend programme.

Leaders Borussia Dortmund (19) are at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday while champions Bayern Munich (17) visit struggling SV Hamburg, and Leipzig host VfB Stuttgart.

Mainz remain in midtable on 10 points, their poor away form - with only one win in their last 18 away games including last season -continuing.

Olympique Marseille vs Vitoria Guimaraes
UEFA Europa League
Group Stage
 19°C
Referee: Stefan Johannesson
Group I
Away match
Date: 19th October 2017
Kick off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Stade Velodrome.

Olympique Marseille and Vitória Guimarães face at Stade Vélodrome, in a match for this stage of the UEFA Europa League (Group Stage). These two teams have never met before, so this will be the first head‑to‑head between them. Both teams register significant differences between home and away results, so the home/away factor is worth atention.

Olympique Marseille

After 1 win and 1 loss, the home team comes to this 3rd round in the 2nd position of Group I, with 3 points won. In the previous round, they lost in an away match against Salzburg by (1‑0), after they have won in their first group stage by (1‑0) at home against Konyaspor. This is a team that is often stronger at home, with the help of its supporters, so they usually make good use of the home advantage, since in the last 30 matches they register 5 wins, 8 draws and 2 losses in away matches; against 12 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss at their stadium. They come to this match after a away draw against Strasbourg by (3‑3). Olympique Marseille has won 8, tied 1 and lost 1 of the last 10 home matches. They have conceded the first goal in 5 of their 15 matches, and have only turned the score around in 1. In the last 8 home matches for all competitions there is 1 period that stands out: they have conceded 3 of their 6 goals between minutes (61'‑75').

Olympique Marseille leaves for this match with a 3-3 draw against Strasbourg, adding the second consecutive match without losing in several competitions: the goals of the team were signed by Payet, Sanson and Mitroglou.
In this home match, coach Rudi Garcia should organize the team in the usual tactical system, namely the 4-2-3-1, benefiting ball possession and organized attacks, especially through the left aisle: Dimitri Payet is very fast and in the offensive transition. On the other hand, Cameroon N'Jie is the top scorer of Marseille with 5 goals scored.
For this game the coach can count on all the players.

Vitoria Guimaraes

Guimaraes will hardly repeat the last year’s success when they earned the right to play the continental competition through Primeira Liga.

Os Vimaranenses have found it very tough to produce in the final third at the start of the new season which is why they hold the ninth position with no more than ten points from eight games in the top flight of the Portuguese football.
